Pure Yoga Retreat


The word ‘pure’ means, not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material. The same meaning applied with “Pure Yoga Retreat” where the yoga is in the traditional and purified form in order to soften the sentiments, feelings and thoughts and connect with the positive and the creative aspects of the life. The fundamental purpose of 7 days Pure Yoga Retreat is to experience the harmonious energy of yoga and create an atmosphere for concentration, free from distraction, and daily interruptions of life.

What you will practice

Pure Yoga Retreat is an intensive retreat by its nature which includes the practices of Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga and Mantra Yoga.

Hatha Yoga starts with body purification. In retreat, the initial emphasis is given for the purification of the physical body through the traditional practices of shatkarmas followed by the practices of asanas, pranayamas, mudra and bandhas

Raja Yoga trains the mind. The purpose of raja yoga is to experience the mental balance and harmony. Incorporation of the traditional practices of meditation and yoga nidra fulfils this purpose.

Havan (Agnihotra) – Taittriya Brahmanam, the classical vedic text states that “The one who practices Agnihotra in the morning and evening becomes strong like thuderbolt/diamond. Destroys enemies by himself. His enemies remain conquered.” A Havan is a sacred ritual in which offerings are made to the fire while chanting the mantras. The sacred fire is supposed to be the link between human consciousness and the cosmic consciousness. In retreat, havan is performed with the aim to achieve the physical and mental well-being, and to experience the wisdom and inner clarity.


An healthy diet and comfortable accommodation plays an important role for any kind of intensive yogic sadhana (practice). In Upaya Yoga, all the necessary care and precautions are given to diet and accommodation.

The team

Pure Yoga Retreat will be conducted under the guidance of our Course Director, Mr. Prashant Pandey who has 28 years of vast experience in yoga and has led ashram lifestyle for 10 years under the surveillant vision of his Guru (spiritual master). He is accompanied by a team of proficient yoga teachers of Upaya Yoga with him.



Course Schedule

  • 6.30 am to 8.00 am – Hatha Yoga (Shatkarma, Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha)
  • 8.00 am – 9.00 am – Breakfast
  • 10.00 am – 11.00 am – Lecture on Yoga Philosophy & Spiritual Life
  • 12.00 noon – 1.00 pm – Raja Yoga (Yoga Nidra & Meditation)
  • 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm – Lunch
  • 4.00 pm – 5.30 pm – Revision and Reflection of the day’s sadhana
  • 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm – Mantra Yoga (Havan)
  • 7.00 pm – 8.00 pm – Dinner
