Overview

Upaya Yoga is delighted to offer to Italian and foreigner yogi and yogini the course which will be hosted in Tuscany in August 2020. This course represents the special opportunity to experience and learn yoga in its original shape without the hassles of travelling to India. Krishna, Alida and Vanessa Fabbrilei, founder of Olistic Network, will lead the training to deliver one the best courses currently available in Europe.

These 22 days journey is hosted, at Casa Cares, into the beautiful countryside at the door of Florence. This is an area popular for the beauty of the Nature, ancient villages and rich vineyards. The course is designed to deliver a wide overview on the major subjects of yoga and also to provide the students with valuable and effective tools for their career as promising teachers. All students will be prepared to lead and instruct a 90 minutes class with strength and clarity after having gained the necessary skills.

The benefits and the relevance of the yogic practice in the daily life will be understood and experienced along the entire training. Eventually, the course will gradually unfold as a personal journey leading to self-discovery and transformation.

  6. To learn the art of relaxation and concentration through Yoga Nidra and Meditation
  7. To progressively build the confidence to teach and expose oneself
  8. To provide remarkable insight in each individual yoga journey
  9. To build powerful and reliable yoga teachers for the modern society

The teaching of this course is usually a lifelong learning for most of the participants.

Objective Of The Course

The Program

The program of this course is well rounded and balanced. The course promises the practice of different styles of yoga and includes a relevant amount of lectures as following.

Styles of yoga:

  • Hatha Yoga
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Lecture on:

  • Yoga Philosophy: History of yoga; introduction to Hatha Yoga -Shatkarma, Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha-; introduction to Samkhya and Patanjali Yoga Sutra; introduction to Yoga Nidra and Meditation
  • Ayurveda: introduction to Ayurveda and its basic principles; personalities identification; Yoga and Ayurveda
  • Yoga Anatomy: introduction to Anatomy and different systems; anatomical terms; Skeletal System; Muscular System; Nervous System; Yoga Posture and Anatomy
  • Upaya Stress Management Program (USMP): understanding of the concept of stress; stress releasing techniques; interactive session

Additional learning:

  • Pranayama: Nadi Shodana, Bastrika, Ujjay, Brahmri, Sheetali, Sitkari.
  • Krya: Kapalbati, Jal Neti, Sutra Neti, Vuaman Doti, Nauli, Tratak.
  • Mantra: chanting practice of Om Mantra, Shanti Mantra, Mahamrintunjaya Mantra, Gayatri Mantra, and Mantra of 32 names of Goddess Durga.
  • Meditation: Kaya Sthairyam; Ajapajapa (stage 1 & 2); Antar Mouna (stage 1& 2); Osho active meditations
  • Yoga Nidra: practice of the first three levels of Yoga Nidra; methodology of Yoga Nidra
  • Art of teaching: ethics of a yoga teacher; guidelines for effective space and time management during the class.
  • Alignment and adjustments: understanding of each component of the asana; body alignment; safe adjustments; avoidance of common injuries

The highlights of our Teacher Training are the ALIGNEMNT AND ADJUSTMENT and TEACHING PRACTICE CLASSES’.

The first one serves to understand and master the asana in any detail. They are complemented by special workshops. These represent a priceless opportunity for the students to deepen the understanding of the poses and their implications.

The skills practiced and acquired during these classes are the following:

  • How to enter and get out of the pose
  • How to transit from one pose to another
  • How to jump back and forward
  • How and when to use props in the asana practice
  • How to adjust safely wrong body alignments
  • How to avoid common injuries in the asana practice
  • How to use the breath in the asana practice
  • How to use the bandha in the asana practice
  • Special workshop on back banding
  • Special workshop on hip opening

The latter represents the time when the student can experiment what has been experienced during the frontal hours. The students will learn how to structure a flow and also how to instruct with efficiency, power and clarity a yoga class. He or she will eventually be ready to lead a 90 minutes class.

The skills practiced and acquired during these classes are the following:

  • Time and space management (how to structure the class and how to organize the Shala).
  • Observation (understanding the different perspective of being a student and a teacher).
  • Communication (how to use the voice and the correct vocabulary in the class).
  • Adjustment (how to correct wrong body alignment and how to use props).
  • Compassion (understanding yourself and others).
  • Leadership (how to lead the class with power and clarity).

To a diligent and humble student, the Teaching Practice is a rare opportunity to discover oneself, to develop self-awareness and to overcome personal blockages. These classes go far beyond a mechanical exercise.

The learning described above are the gems of our Course. They guarantee to shape the student into a conscious and competent teacher.
